Regional Competition between Iran and Saudi Arabia and its Impact on YemenMojtaba HidaryDr. Javad salehiAbstract:Yemen government could not strongly support its citizens and failed to protect its people against violence. The crisis, resulted from Arab Spring, had a huge impact on the region and the world. Given the lack of central powerful government in Yemen, it became a failed state and, therefore regional powerful actors such as Iran and Saudi Arabia have begun to compete with each other in order to maximize their interest. After the overthrow of the Yemeni government, Saudi Arabia's zero sum game on Iran has intensified the regional chaos. The study tries to answer the question: How do competition between Iran and Saudi Arabia influence on events in Yemen and its people? The research conducted by analytical and descriptive data. The first, the authors would analyze the vacuum resulted from 2011 Arab Spring and regional transformation which provoke regional rivals to ensure their survival. Moreover, so many local and international terrorist groups, resulted from the lack of effective military, would lead to desalination and expansion threat. Ultimately, the military intervention of Saudi Arabia would result in irreversible humanitarian crisis, immigration, economic collapse, starvation and malnutrition which pose a threat to millions of Yemenis.Key Word: Competition between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen, Regional Stabilization, Proxy War
