An Investigation The Ultimate Goals Of Existence According To The Quran
By “goals”, the author means the purposes behind the actions of all living and even non-living things which lead them to become what they finally turn into. The whole creation and existence follow a purposeful system in which no item or object is without goals or purpose. Rather, each individual or object will get to its final goal or destination. The Quran states that the world is created on the basis of truth which actually means reality. Therefore, the whole world is created on the basis of the final truth which is the final end of the existence. The reality system comprises a whole chain of linear goals or ends the most significant of which is man. The only goal of creation of the earth and the skies is to serve the best human beings. Since the best and the most perfect man is still an entity with the possibility of existence, he has the goal of unification with The Entity which is bound to exist. . The goals of creation and those of man fall into two categories: The main goal which may be called the goal of perfection and the subsidiary and somehow necessary goal. The ultimate goal of all human beings is to obtain Allah’s grace and mercy. However, the necessary subsidiary goal of sinners and the disobedient is doomed to be the hell. In this research, first the relationship between the ultimate goal and its various aspects are explained and then relation between the ultimate goal and the moral goals are explained.
