Survey and Criticism of principals of historical interpretation in “Al- Tafsir al- Hadith”
One of the Sunni’s contemporary commentators (interpreters) and author of “Al- Tafsir al- Hadith” is Mohammad Ezzat Darvazeh. He collected and authored his books and studies based on the historical tendencies, especially in field of History of early Islam; hereby he prepared interpretation of the Qur’an with historical method. He believed that the best method of interpretation (exegesis) is according to the historical context of the glorious Qur’an and also chronological order. Thus, Darvazeh could established a new work in Qur’an interpretation fields by extracting and assorting the chapters(Suras) of Qur’an from its chronological order and today we called his method ; interpretation by chronological order or historical interpretation. His principals in historical interpretation are: a) Interpretation based on the chronological order, b) Pivotal role of Qur’an and Siyaq al - Ayah (verses) c) Custom(general) of language of Qur’an D) Extraction of Mohammad (pbuh) Sirah from the Qur’an.Darvazah’s Principles of Interpretation is encountered with several critiques such as: Interpretation from chronological order is based on the doubts.Darvazeh’s principles in verses order is different in compare to chronological order.Chronological orders of Sura(s) is opposite of knowledge of proportionality in Verses and Suras. Therefore, in this paper I explained and criticized principals of his interpretation.
