Investigating the Relationship between Social Capital, Psychological Capital, and Organizational Performance: A Case Study of Small Businesses of Tabriz
In the last two decades, organizational performance has become one of the interesting topics in the theoretical and applied research domains. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of psychological and social capital on organizational performance. This study was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-correlational in terms of method, in which structural equation modeling was used. The statistical population was comprised of all the employees working in the small businesses of Tabriz. In the first phase, 18 businesses were selected through cluster sampling and in the second phase, of the total 750 employees, 255 people were selected randomly using Cochran formula. Data collection was done using a standard questionnaire and the obtained data was analyzed using SPSS18 and AMOS22 software. The findings showed that there is a significant positive relationship between psychological capital and social capital. Also, social capital and psychological capital have positive and significant effects on organizational performance, where the effect of social capital was more significant and stronger. The psychological capital was indirectly effective on the organizational performance through social capital variable, and social capital was a mediator variable between the psychological capital and organizational performance.
