The effect of mindfulness training on coping strategies and life expectancy in pregnant women
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mindfulness training on coping strategies and life expectancy in pregnant women with addiction in 1398-1398. The quasi-experimental research design was pre-test and post-test with control group. The statistical population consisted of all pregnant women referring to Imam Reza Hospital in Kermanshah who had medical records in the years 2018-2019. The sample size was 30 pregnant women who were selected by purposive random sampling. Samples were randomly divided into experimental (n = 15) and control (n = 15) groups. All participants completed the questionnaire of Laskarus's coping strategies and hope in Schneider's life as a pre-test. The experimental group received mindfulness training for 9 sessions, but the control group did not receive any intervention. The results showed that mindfulness training had a significant effect on coping strategies (P = 0.009) and life expectancy (P = 0.001) in pregnant addicted women. Since the presence of mind or mind awareness of these mothers was lower than normal, therefore mindfulness training or attention awareness or presence of mind can play an important role as adjunctive and rehabilitation therapies along with medical treatments in pregnant women.
