The Relationship between Marital Betrayal and Love Styles with Couples' Sexual Satisfaction

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between marital infidelity and love styles with sexual satisfaction of couples.

The method of this study was descriptive-correlational. The research population included all couples who have had at least two years of marriage (at least two years after their marriage), at least once experienced infidelity (in the form of a virtual relationship, texting or phone call and sexual intercourse), and to resolve their own problems. Welfare counseling centers in Tehran were visited. According to the Krejcie Morgan table, the sample size was 350 couples. They were selected by random clustering in Tehran Welfare Counseling Centers and answered the Hudson Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire and the Sternberg Love Scale. In descriptive statistics, mean and standard deviation, and inferential statistics, Pearson correlation test was used. The data were analyzed by SPSS software.

The results showed that there was no significant relationship between marital infidelity and sexual satisfaction of couples. However, as love styles increased (intimacy, excitement, and commitment), couples' sexual satisfaction increased, and vice versa.
