A Few Points on Shahnama and Ferdowsi

Abstract:
In this article, some of the attractions in Ferdowsi’s thought, belief, and behavior, and the aesthetic aspects of Shahnama are dealt with.Love of Iran's eternity, identification of Iranian race, and their needs and aspirations, God ’ s admiration as the creator of life and wisdom, obedience to the Prophet and Imamit household, emphasis on the honor of human beings, awakening Iranian nationalism zeal against the return of Bani Umayyad and Bani Abbasids government's fanaticism, and admiration of Iranian common sense in joining good deeds and opposing bad ones are among these attractions which are narrated accurately and honestly in Shahnama.The simple and sincere language, short and glorious description of scenes, and the inspiration of humane emotions, the proportion of speech components and the relationship between vocabulary and subject, mental equivocation, aesthetic exaggeration to make proportion between description and the epic’s topic and the power of the hero, and the verses to avoid the contradictions of attractions, and ignoring them without any special hint – are among Shahnama ’s aesthetic effects.
