An Investigation into the Mediating Role of Organizational Commitment in the Relationship between Personality Traits and the Morale of Basij Members
This study was conducted to investigate the mediating role of organizational commitment in the relationship between personality traits and the morale of Basij members.
The statistical population of the study consisted of the active Basij members of Mazandaran Province, Iran (about 7000 people) who had participated in Salehin Project. From among about 7000 men and women, a group of 365 people was selected using the stratified cluster random sampling method. The instruments used in this study were the Mayer and Allen's (1991) Standard Organizational Commitment Questionnaire, the Personality Traits Questionnaire and a researcher-made morale questionnaire (2017), and the reliability index of all the instruments was above 0.7. For data analysis, in addition to descriptive methods, Spearman correlation test, strong regression and Sobel test were used.
The results revealed that at 0.05 confidence level, there was a significant relationship between personality traits and morale, and also the mediating role of organizational commitment in this relationship was confirmed.
