Urban design with the aim of reducing the thermal disadvantages of the urban heat Islands
By increasing the rate of migration to cities and the horizontal and vertical expansion of cities, the environmental system appears, and artificial elements replace natural elements such as trees and vegetation in the environment. The imbalance between artifact and natural elements has led to the emergence of new phenomena such as thermal islands. The environmental and livelihood conditions in Tehran metropolitan area have been affected by the deficiencies of this phenomenon, due to the large scale applications such as Mehrabad Airport. The study area is located near the focal point of the urnan heat islands of Tehran metropolis. The main purpose of the research is to revisit the effect of thermal islands in urban life using urban design methods and techniques in the Tehransar area. In order to identify the effective factors in reducing the adverse effects of this emerging phenomenon, using a descriptive-analytical research method, benefiting from library studies, electronic publishing, and field research, data were gathered. Considering the findings of the research in the field of theoretical foundations and understanding the scope of the design, by presenting design strategies, it can be partly reduced the adverse effects of this phenomenon. The final achievement of this research has been presented as a developmental plan that can be used to reduce the environmental deficiencies caused by thermal islands in this area.
