The Limb Length Difference in Post‐Hip Arthroplasty (Review of Articles)
Limb length discrepancy (LLD) after total hip arthroplasty is common. This problem has effect on satisfaction of hip arthroplasty patients. Limb length discrepancy remains one of the most common reasons for litigation against the orthopedic community. Patients accept limb shortening better than limb lengthening after THA . LLD can cause pain, limping back pain and early loosening of prosthesis. So, the surgeon should prevent this problem by preoperative templating and several methods intraoperatively. In this literature review, we evaluate causes of LLD after THA and methods preoperatively and intraoperatively to prevent LLD .
