Political approach of Turkey in Iraqi Kurdistan and its Impact on the Security of the Islamic Republic of Iran

While handling the old crisis of the Kurds who used to be called Mountain Turks for sometime, still considered the main crisis of Ankara, the Turkey government changed its approach to the Kurds and established various relations with them. Establishing political relations and using Kurdish leaders in the region for territorial objectives indicate that through this change of approach the Turkey government is looking for objectives beyond their territorial security. Accordingly, the present research, Political Approach of Turkey in Iraqi Kurdistan and its Impact on the National Security of the Islamic Republic of Iran, hypothesizes that Turkey's vast activities in Iraqi Kurdistan facilitate threats against the security of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This is a practical research using descriptive-analysis method carried out between2003 to 2013 in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Considering the aims and the achievements of the political approach of Turkey in Kurdistan region, the research concludes that the approach and the presence of Turkey in this region is a menace to the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in this regard, some suggestions are offered.
