Folk etymology of some words of Yazdi dialect
One of the most important reasons for the cultural richness of Yazd should be considered in the long presence of Zoroastrians with their special dialect. Yazdi language has a long list of words with a semantic, cultural and phonetic structure due to its long coexistence with the Zoroastrian Dari language. However, in the meantime, it should be said that another important reason is that if there are similarities between the Yazd dialect and the Zoroastrian dialect, it is because they are related to each other, rather than the effect of the Behdinan dialect alone. Based on the conditions and necessities of word formation, this article proves and emphasizes that a number of original words with ancient roots in the Yazdi language can be revised and revived. However, the city of Yazd alone has a lot of linguistic diversity with many neighborhoods, even among Zoroastrians.
