Effectiveness of Schema Therapy on Initial incompatible Schemas, Increasing Quality of Life and Marital Satisfaction in Divorce Applicants in Shiraz

Abstract The aim of this study was the effectiveness of schema therapy, on Initial incompatible schemas, Increasing Quality of Life and Marital Satisfaction in divorce applicants in Shiraz in the year 96-97. The research method was experimental (semi-experimental) and applied. 30 couples participated in the research on the eve of divorce with a simple random method. Data were collected using schematic protocol, scale of initial incompatible schemes scale, quality of life questionnaire, and enrich marital satisfaction scale. The findings showed that according to the results of the test, covariance analysis was observed that index F for the dimensions of the abandonment, distrust misbehavior, dependence incompetence, vulnerability, shame defects, sacrifice, self-disciplinal of failure, social alienation, and involvement is significant at 0.0001. According to the average score observed that the average scores of the variables mentioned in the post-test phase decreased to the pre-test stage. The results of this study indicate that schema therapy has a significant effect on early incompatible schemas in couples applying for divorce in Shiraz.
