Standardizing the Iranian Version of the Bernard's Adolescent Scale of Irrationali
Adolescence is an important age, that that is increasing is increasing problems in the individual and social spheres, causing distortions at this age. The purpose of this study was to standardize Bernard's irrational beliefs assessment tool (1988). The statistical population of this study consisted of high school girl students in Tehran's 5th district in 1398. Using two-stage cluster sampling, 274 students were selected. The questionnaire was completed by irrational beliefs. Cronbach's alpha was 0.77. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to analyze the data and although the number of materials decreased, the number of constructs remained the same as the original 4 constructs, due to the elimination of two items in the extraction of the main factors and the non-fitting of acceptable index levels, 26 items. Questionnaire was analyzed using exploratory factor analysis. With varimax rotation, the findings supported the hypothesized model of the questionnaire for 4 underlying factors. Regarding the content of the items, the first, second, third, and fourth factors were named, respectively, "self-humiliation”, “intolerance of desperate laws”, “intolerance of justice hopelessness and demanding justice” and “intolerance of law-breaking by others” Finally, the questionnaire was extracted with 25 items and 4 new constructs that could justify 58.21% of the total variance.
