An evaluation of distance education researchs by scholarly influence model
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the researches output of the field of distance education indexed in the WOS database using Scholarly capital model.
This research is an applied Scientometric study and has been carried out using network analysis. Regarding the relationship between variables, this research is a correlation type. The research community was those documents that has been indexed in the field of distance education studies in the ISI database in the period 1985 to 2016 and has a total of 31607 records.
The finding of this study showed that social influence has a positive and significant effect on the Ideational Influence and venue influence, as well as there is a positive relationship between venue influence on Ideational.
The results of the study showed that researchers with stronger social interactions would be better able to participate with other researchers and to increase the quality of the works; hence, in terms of co-authorship and indicators, they are in a better position. Also, researchers with higher Ideational influence have more venue influence.
