Maritime Tourism Management with Economic Assessment of Coastal and Maritime Tourism Facilities in the Caspian Sea

The purpose of this study is to measure the tourists’ preferences for rating the features of beaches and maritime tourism resorts in two cities of Mazandaran province.

The statistical population of this applied and descriptive study were 1040 randomly selected tourists in spring and summer of the year 2018, 640 in Ramsar and 400 in Nowshahr. The data analyses were done by the method of conditional logit regression with the application of the Nlogit 4 and Stata 15 software.

Finings: 

Results showed various features with different orders for the two cities. That is, while the attributes of improvement of sanitation, recreational facilities, security, the existence of expert tour guides and tourism expenses were the priorities in descending order for Ramsar tourist resort, beach landscapes, the improvement of sanitary and welfare facilities, safety and security of the beach and sea were among the priorities of tourists in Nowshahr.

Based on the results of this study, 25% improvement of the beach and sea landscape, 50% improvement of welfare and sanitary facilities, and 50% improvement of recreational facilities can form a desirable model of tourist resort for these two cities in comparison with the present condition of them.
