Experience of Living on the Outskirt of Cities and Women's Social Health (A Qualitative Study Conducted on Women Living in "Hesar Amir Pakdasht")
Social health is the result of an individual's assessment of his or her situation, which reduces his/her ability to actively and positively engage with others in the outskirt of cities. This situation has prevented women living on the outskirt of cities from using their individual and social abilities and capabilities in order to enjoy a desirable life.
This qualitative study was conducted using phenomenology among women living on the outskirt of "Hesar Amir Pakdasht". The study population included all women over 18 living in "Hesar Amir Pakdasht". Samples were purposefully selected. The data collection tool is a semi-structured interview. Based on theoretical saturation, 10 women were interviewed and coding was used for analyzing the data. The research findings indicate that the experience of living on the outskirt of cities is: "Immature relationship, situational instability, self-marginalization and continuity to the status quo, reciprocal irreversibility, sense of deliverance and insignificance" on the part of women under study. The results indicate that living on the outskirt of "Hesar Amir Pakdasht" has restricted the relationship of women in that area. This has led to a positional inferiority on their part, destabilizing family boundaries .In the meantime, weakness of women's status has led to reduction of the possibility of their adaptability and participation in the society.
