Adaptation of urban public spaces for the disabled and the elderly (Case study: Imam Khomeini St., Parsian)
Urban public spaces are places for social interaction and civic relations for all walks of life. Although urban spaces are based on equal citizenship rights, in reality this is not the case, and the disabled and the elderly can not easily enter the urban space and are always afraid to enter public places; People with disabilities, like other people, have the right to use urban spaces. However, the unsatisfactory physical space of cities and its non-compliance with the needs and desires of this group due to the problems and obstacles in cities, especially Parsian, led to the main purpose of this study, namely the adaptation of Imam Khomeini Street Parsian to pay for the use of urban space and public places for the disabled and the elderly. The three objectives of this study include identifying the necessary standards, examining the issues and problems in the street and providing solutions. Using descriptive-analytical method and field observation tools and library studies, the impressions obtained in the swot table are examined and finally solutions. In order to improve and adapt Imam Khomeini Street in Parsian city (sidewalks, uses and public places) has been proposed.
