Challenges and Strategies of Iran's Criminal Policy in Preventing the Victimization of Employed Women

One of the most important and fundamental issues of our society is to address the issue of women's employment and their victimization and to discover the causal relationship between these two neglected unknowns in the perspective of legal minds. Considering the necessity of examining Iran's criminal policy in employment-related victimization, the main issue of the present study is the challenges and strategies of Iran's criminal policy in reducing the material or moral damage caused by women's employment.

In order to answer the research question, while using different views and opinions in this field and reviewing the existing laws, in-depth interviews were conducted with 20 women working in the public and private sectors at different job levels.

The findings show that in the Iranian criminal justice system, there are violations in all three areas: legislative, judicial and executive. There are many forms of violent victimization that have not been criminalized by the legislature, and in some cases that have been criminalized, there is no guarantee of proper performance that will play an effective role in reducing crime. There is no defense for the victims and sometimes even the authorities themselves become a source of violence for them and with a long process of trial and in some cases prejudice, the victim is abused in another way.

Via proposing supportive measures against this special group of victims, we seek to advance society towards reducing the number of victims and repairing the psychological pain of the victims and compensating their material and spiritual damages.
