Resilient and adaptable people can play an effective role in promoting their mental health and that of society, by providing intimate relationships. This study investigates the influence of training the effective communication skills on resilience and social adjustment of students in Police University. This research was conducted by a quasi-experimental and pre-test and post-test method, with a control group. For this purpose, 30 students of one of the police universities were selected by available sampling method in the academic year of 2020 and were divided into two experimental (15) and control (15) groups. The instruments to measure were including the Resilience Scale of Connor and Davidson (2003) and Adaptation Questionnaire of the Bell (1961) which were completed in the pre-test and post-test. After completing the pre-test, the intervention group underwent eight sessions of 90- minute for training about skills of establishing an effective communication. Data were analyzed by analysis of covariance. The results showed that compare to the control group, there is a significant increase in social adjustment and resilience (p <0.01). According to the research results, training of communication skills can be considered as an effective method to increase the adaptability and resilience of police students.
