Pathology of Privatization of Higher Education in Iran
Privatization is one of the major global trends in higher education. Although private universities are acclaimed in many foreign countries, so many factors contribute to the development of private higher education in countries. The social demand and government strategy to raise the level of knowledge of the people has produced a great acceleration of the privatization of higher education in Iran. Failure to consider the necessary infrastructure of private education in Iran has caused impairment to higher education and a review of theoretical and experimental foundations in this area indicated that there are many concerns in this area, the most important of which include simply transferring knowledge and not paying attention to production, the weakness of research and the inability to communicate with the departments employing graduates and the inadequacy of faculty members of the related type in the universities. It seems essential to reorganize the public sector of higher education and make it more favorable with the superior goals of higher education in the country in order to prevent the dissipation of human capital by inserting ineffective information in these centers.
