A Study of the Correlation Between Conflict Management Styles with Job Satisfaction and its Social Factors
Conflict is an inseparable component of the human life, and this phenomenon, which seriously exists in many organizations, can affect the organizational performance. One of the factors influencing job satisfaction is the conflict management in the organization. This study aimed at examining the role of conflict management styles on job satisfaction of employees. The method of study was survey and the population involved the staff of police stations of Tabriz. The method of sampling was the multistage cluster from which 239 employees were selected. The results of research show that there is a positive (0.395) correlation between the styles of conflict management and job satisfaction at the 99% level of confidence. Furthermore, the evaluation of computed Pearson Correlation Coefficient between dimensions of the styles of conflict management (control, solution orienting, non-confrontation) and job satisfaction shows that all the dimensions have a positive and significant correlation with the variable of job satisfaction. The results of investigating the role of underlying factors on job satisfaction show that the satisfaction mean of employees doesn’t vary according to age, degree and duration of service; in contrast, the satisfaction mean of employees varies with educational degree and local police station of service.
