A Model for Transformation of Police Stations in South Khorasan Province
Due to the increasing complexity of crimes, it is indispensable for police stations to take the necessary transformational measures in accordance with these complexities. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design a model for the transformation of police stations in South Khorasan Province.
This research is applied in terms of purpose and has utilized a mixed method strategy (qualitative-quantitative). In the qualitative section, semi-structured interviews with 30 experts in the field of transformation were used to achieve theoretical saturation. The statistical population included about 492 commanders, middle managers and experts in the disciplinary command of South Khorasan province, 120 of whom were selected by stratified sampling and a questionnaire was distributed among them. To analyze the data of the qualitative part, the method of qualitative content analysis and in the quantitative part, the tests of confirmatory factor analysis and structural equations using Spss and LISREL softwares.
The findings of the qualitative section showed that the identified model includes two dimensions inside and outside the organization and 8 components of adaptation to the environment; Organizational links; Social interactions; Information Technology; Organizational processes; Manpower; Organizational culture and organizational structure. Quantitative findings also indicated that the impact factor of manpower and organizational structure with the greatest extent, as the most effective components affecting the evolution process.
According to the prioritization of the identified components, serious and effective measures should be taken in the fields of manpower, organizational structure, information technology and organizational processes. Also, outsourcing affairs and providing electronic services in police stations has a special place in the field of prevention and it is vital to be the criterion of action of commanders and managers in a scientific and practical way.
