Abstract:

With the development of the transport sector, human life has become much easier, as they can be moved from point to point in much less time. But since any useful invention usually causes problems, transportation is not an exception, and its effects can be attributed to accidents. According to research done, one of the most important causes of a crash is unauthorized speed. So researchers are looking for ways to control their speed. One of these tools is the control camera. This study sought to investigate the effect of speed control cameras on road accident reduction using statistical analysis. As a case study, the Rasht-Chaboksar axis was considered and the accident data in 0292 (before speed cameras) and in 0292 (after speed cameras) were compared using statistical methods and regression model. Regarding the number of hours of operation of speed control cameras in terms of the difference between the severity of the accident and the number of accidents was presented.
