Determining the effectiveness of social adjustment training program on Academic self-defeating behaviors in boy students
The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of social adjustment training program on academic self-defeating behaviors in boy students. The research method was quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test design with control group. The statistical population included all boy high school students in bokan who are studying in the academic year 2019-2020. 30 people were selected through available sampling method and randomly divided into two experimental groups (15 people) and Witnesses (15 people) were included. The measurement tool in this study was the Self-Breaking Behaviors Scale (Cunningham,2007). The students in the experimental group underwent 10 sessions of 90 minutes for 5 consecutive weeks (2 sessions per week) under the training of Najari et al. (2018) and the control group did not receive any intervention. The obtained data were analyzed using univariate analysis of covariance and the data were analyzed by SPSS software and a significance level of 0.05 was used for all statistical tests. Findings showed that after the intervention, the effect of social adjustment training program on self-defeating academic behaviors (p = 0.034) was significant for male students. Based on the research results, it can be said that teaching social adjustment program was effective on self-defeating academic behaviors of male students. It is suggested that this program be included in the agenda of education authorities to reduce self-defeating behaviors and eliminate problems of student incompatibility.
