Review The impact of Information Technology on Staff Empowerment in the commander of mazandaran police force
Organizations make huge investments on information and communications technology (ICT) based on its capabilities in increasing organizational value. One of the values that the organizations can create with these technologies is staff empowerment. We aimed to study the impact of information and communication technologies on empowerment of employees in the commander of mazandaran police force. In this study, a questionnaire was designed by studying previous related literature. Its validity was approved by expert authorities and faculty supervisors and consultants, and the questionnaire was distributed among the participants. Collected data were analyzed using regression analysis (to test the hypotheses), One-sample t-test, and Friedman ANOVA test to determine the ranking of each empowerment dimensions.We found a meaningful and positive relationship between the use of ICT and staff empowerment in the commander of mazandaran police force. Moreover, using ICTs in this organization could define the change of staff empowerment to the extent of 0.665. We also found that the level of staff empowerment in this organization is above the average level, and their empowerment in is higher“effectiveness”(2.67) and lower in “Competence”(2.32)compared with other aspects of empowerment. It is important that organizations and their managers formulate an appropriate program and use the right strategy to take benefit from these facilities in order to empower employees.
