Evaluating the effect of cognitive flexibility on resistance to organizational change with the mediating role of organizational citizenship behavior of police officers in Mazandaran province
purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of cognitive flexibility on resistance to organizational change with the mediating role of organizational citizenship behavior of police officers in Mazandaran province.
The method of this research is applied in terms of purpose. The research method is based on the data collection method. The statistical population of this study is the managers of the first and second tier of the Disciplinary Command of Mazandaran Province. The sample size using Cochran's formula for limited communities is 223 people who are randomly selected from the statistical population of the study. To collect research data, the standard cognitive flexibility questionnaire of Dena and Van der Waals (2010) and the standard questionnaire of resistance to organizational change by Wayne and Andy (2001) and the standard questionnaire of organizational citizenship behavior of Lee and Allen (2002) were used. Experts confirmed it and its reliability was obtained using Cronbach's alpha formula 0.82, 0.94 and 0.89, respectively. Correlation and regression statistical tests using SPSS software were used to analyze the data.
The findings show that there is a positive and significant effect of cognitive flexibility on resistance to organizational change. The results also show that cognitive flexibility has a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Resistance to organizational change also has a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior.
The results show that cognitive flexibility in resisting organizational change is explained by the mediating variable of organizational citizenship behavior,
