Geography of Art in Islamic and Western Architecture: A Study of Important Elements in Museum and Exhibition Design

With the beginning of the twentieth century, it can be seen that museum and exhibition spaces have started a new development process and these centers have moved away from the traditional understanding of museology and have become multi-purpose scientific, historical and educational centers. With the development of the exhibition concept, interdisciplinary unity increased and space itself was included in the design to establish multi-layered communication. Today, museums no longer display only objects, but the exhibition itself has become a work of art. The importance of the feature is enjoyed. In this research, in order to investigate the effective elements in the design of museums and exhibitions in Islamic and Western architecture, a descriptive-analytical method has been used and the data have been collected by documentary and library methods. The results show that there are three main physical, informational and technical elements involved in the design of exhibition spaces and museums, each of which is divided into other components. To succeed in achieving the goals of any exhibition, there are three important elements of the visitor, the artist and the arranger, each of which is very important to achieve the results we expect.
