The soft power of the Resistance Front: An analysis of the media power of the Arbaeen March

The Arbaeen March is considered one of the biggest spiritual movements in the world, which is referred to as the strength of the resistance front. This research seeks to identify the media functions of the Arbaeen March, therefore, it seeks to explore and discover the subject under study and does not have a specific theoretical framework, and its findings are based on the collected data, which are set using the grounded theory method. and conducting interviews with experts, during the process of open, central and selective coding, the components have been extracted and presented. MAXQDA 2020 software was used for coding and data analysis. The research findings showed; There are different functions in Arbaeen procession. The march has forty media functions: "education", "guidance", "leadership", "environmental monitoring", "social solidarity", "cultural and social heritage transfer", "entertainment", "crisis reduction" and "creating social status". There are functions of informing, informing, creating social solidarity and religious education in connection with interpersonal communication and formal mass communication, and functions of informing, informing, criticizing and in some cases even entertaining in connection with informal media communication. These levels of communication and media functions of the Arbaeen March are directly related to the communication, media power and soft power of the Resistance Front.
