The effectiveness of group mourning counseling with Islamic approach on resilience and social health of bereaved mothers affected by Covid-19 in Bushehr
The aim of this study was the effectiveness of group mourning counseling with Islamic approach on resilience and social health of mothers affected by Covid-19 in Bushehr in the first six months of 1400.
The method of the present study was quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test design with a control group and the statistical population of the present study was bereaved mothers referring to psychology clinics in Bushehr. The sample size of the study was 30 bereaved mothers who were selected by voluntary sampling and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group was exposed to the Islamic mourning group counseling protocol for 8 sessions of 60 minutes (one session per week). The instruments of the present study were Conner and Davidson (2003) Resilience Questionnaire and Keys and Shapiro (2004) Social Health Questionnaire.
Group mourning counseling with Islamic approach improves the components of resilience, ie competence, personal strength, trust in personal instincts, tolerance of negative emotions, positive acceptance of emotions, safe relationships and security control, and also improves social health and its components, namely cohesion. Social, social adaptation, social participation, social prosperity and social acceptance were tested in the experimental group in comparison with the experimental group.
Based on the results of present study, programs in the form of complementary programs along with group mourning counseling with an Islamic approach can be considered and the very positive effects of these interventions on improving resilience and social health of bereaved mothers affected by Covid-19.
