Defense strategies of the J.A. Army in the Iran-Iraq war(Case study of Abudhar defense plan)
The Iran-Iraq war started on 31 Shahrivar 1359, after 641 violations of Iran's territorial integrity and with the help of Iraq. With the mission of defending the country's borders and gaps, the J.A. Army was monitoring the actions of Iraq and almost a year before the start of the war, it had warned of the critical situation in the relations between the two countries and the possibility of the start of the war from Iraq. But the belief and necessary measures at the level of the country's top officials in order to manage the crisis created in the relations between the two countries were not significant and the necessary decisions were not taken to prevent the outbreak of war. After the start of the war, the J.A. Army implemented its pre-prepared defense strategies and prevented the enemy from achieving its predetermined goals and strategies. This is despite the fact that the performance of the army at the beginning of the war has been disputed so far. Therefore, in this article, in a descriptive-historical and retrospective way, the researcher has studied the actions of the army (before the start of the Iran-Iraq war until the end of the second year) and while examining the available documents, in the form of library, field and internet, the defense strategies of the army. In the first year, A.A. adapted war with the basics of military and strategic sciences and answered some criticisms of the army.
