Effect Of Anger Management Training Using Stress Inoculation Program On Affective Control And Its Subscales In Delinquent Adolescents In Tehran’s Correction And Rehabilitation Center
Adolescent behavioral problems come at a high cost to individuals and communities. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Anger Management Training Using Stress Inoculation program on affective control in delinquent adolescents.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, quasi-experimental method with pre-test - post-test and follow-up was performed. Among the statistical population of all adolescent boys of Correction and Rehabilitation Center in Tehran city, 40 subjects were selected using convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Before the intervention, participants completed Affective control Scale. Then, the experimental group received 10 sessions of 90 to 120 minutes of training in the "Stress Inoculation Training Program" and the control group did not receive training. After completing the training sessions, as well as two months later, both groups completed the ACS questionnaires again.
According to Findings of mixed variance analysis, the affective control scores and its subscales [anger, depression, anxiety and positive affect] in the experimental group showed a significant decrease compared to the control group and during the study stages.
According to the findings of the study, the educational method used in this study could be used to increase affective control in delinquent adolescents and to prevent the occurrence of aggressive behaviors in them.
