Iran-US Security-Political Challenges and Opportunities in the Persian Gulf Region (2018-2020)
The issue of security is one of the problems of the world today in general and in the Persian Gulf in particular. The Persian Gulf, as the largest source of energy in the world, is particularly sensitive in terms of security for both major powers and countries in this field. This has created many security challenges in the region. As the dominant power in the region, which has the longest border with the Persian Gulf, Iran has sought collective security after the revolution without the presence of major powers. The Islamic Republic of Iran, which has entered the global equation with a new identity after the revolution, wants to have a security strategy that challenges the interests of the United States and the great powers. But the main issue in this region is the cooperation of the countries of the region with the United States and their confrontation with Iran, which has faced security challenges in the region after the revolution. In the meantime, the Islamic Republic can create opportunities from the threats of the US presence in the region and create practical opportunities by further converging with the countries of the Persian Gulf region. The Islamic Republic of Iran is with the countries of the region. However, this article seeks to answer the question of how the security-political challenges and opportunities of Iran and the United States in the Persian Gulf region can be explained.
