On the Relationship between Decision-Making Types and Teacher Effectiveness: The Analysis of Different Styles of Decision among Iranian EFL Teacher

In educational system, majority of innovative decisions tend to be made are the result of systematic thought and critical thinking skills of the teachers. The importance and existence of the different relationship between decision-making types and teaching effectiveness is not hidden from anyone. But exploring the nature of the relationship between these two concepts still demands further research. Hence, the purpose of the present research was to reveal how this relationship works, in which we studied the relationship between the five dimensions of decision-making types and teacher effectiveness among Iranian EFL teachers through structural equation modeling approach. To meet this end, 147 adult male and female EFL teachers from different language institutes in three northern cities of Iran being selected as the participants of the study through convenience sampling method and then two questionnaires were delivered. The process of analyzing the collected data was through the SmartPLS software and statistical package for social sciences (SPSS-v26). The result of the descriptive statistics and correlation' findings showed that there is a strong relationship between different dimensions of decision-making types and teacher’s effectiveness. It is concluded that decision-making types would be remarkably beneficial if they could generally distinguish between high and low quality decision makers. This study has implications for language instructors, policy makers, and decision makers in the era of education and also everyone who considers teachers' quality a vital feature to the future prospects of a country.
