The effectiveness of emotional intelligence training on adjustment and marital satisfaction of couple

Adjustment and marital satisfaction is the most important factor in determining the stability and permanence of marriage. Marital satisfaction is one of the factors contributing to the stability of the family and at the same time mental health wives and children. This study aimed to investigate the effect of emotional intelligence on the adjustment and marital satisfaction was conducted. This study used a quasi-experimental design with pre-test - post-test with a control group. The study population was all the couples referred to counseling centers in Tehran and was Rey. Experimental group received 15 sessions of one hour and the emotional intelligence training while the control group did not receive any intervention. Emotional intelligence scale data collection tools, marital and marital satisfaction. Data obtained using analysis of covariance and design time series was analyzed. Results adjustment and marital satisfaction scores before and after training in emotional intelligence and its components showed significant differences. The result showed that emotional intelligence training on effective adaptation and marital satisfaction.
