Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to analyze and explain the desirable Regional Security Order of Turkey in West Asia. The main question of the paper is that: what kind of order in West Asian regional security is desirable and provides security and relative benefits of Turkey and how realities of power structure in this Security Complex has influenced on Turkey's systemic behavior? The hypothesis of the paper is that: According to the strategic depth doctrine, Turkey's desirable order in the West Asian region is hegemony, but The realities of the power structure and the interests of trans-regional powers have caused this country adopts a balancing strategy against the countries of this region. So that, we can be seen defective cycle from hegemony to balancing in foreign policy of Turkey after came to power the Justice and Development Party. The research method is descriptive-explanatory and its scope, geographically, includes West Asian and in terms of time, includes 2002-2019.
