Exploring the Significance of Physical Well-being as a Foundation from a Quranic Perspective
In the Holy Quran, alongside spiritual well-being, physical health is also emphasized, highlighting the significance of physical health from an Islamic viewpoint. This paper explores the foundations of valuing physical health in the Quran and addresses the question: What are the valuable principles of physical health in the Quran? The research utilizes a descriptive-analytical method and draws upon library sources. The Holy Quran refers to the importance and value of physical health through explicit and implicit evidence, occasionally employing figurative language and concepts. These indications include: health is from God; individual well-being is equivalent to the well-being of all humans; the manifestation of health in Quranic verses; the obligation to protect the body from harm and damage; recognition of the patient's duty to preserve and value their health; the value of health in the concept of the verse "Do not cast yourselves into destruction"; attention to cleanliness and purity; the Quranic lifestyle as a promoter of health; Quranic commands and recommendations aligned with bodily health; the necessity of consuming pure and wholesome nutrition, and more. The findings indicate that the Quran, alongside nurturing the soul, emphasizes the valuation of physical health, which aligns with the goals of the Quran and possesses inherent desirability
