Initiatives for Preventing and Coping with Residential Complexes Robbery in Northern Khorasan Province

Abstract:
This paper deals with understanding the theft of residential complexes in Northern Khorasan province and provides suitable solutions to prevent it. This study was conducted using quantitative and using interviews and questionnaires. Statistical sample of this study was 376 families living in residential complexes to evaluate the residential complexes, which were selected by cluster sampling method. For interviews with experts, according to theoretical sampling 38 experts on theft and crimes were interviewed. The results showed that totally theft from residential complexes was in the average level, but it is increasing with the expansion of the residential complexes. Based on experts and residents opinion most of the conducted robberies were robberies of small objects. The most important strategies for the prevention of theft in residential complexes are including administrative and legal initiatives, economic initiatives, socio-cultural initiatives, and situational initiatives.
