Determining the strategic position of judo based on SWOT analysis
The purpose of this research was to determine the strategic position of judo based on SWAT analysis.
The method of present research was analytical- descriptive, in terms of results was an applied and case study. The population of this study included Judo federation leaders and Mommitties members, national team coaches and athletes, provinces Judo directors and Judo experts which includes 107 people. Due to the limitations of society, sampling was carried out on a full count. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather the required information. The validity of questionnaire was approved by 10 professors with Phd degree of sport management. The reliability of questionnaire using the method of Cronbach's alpha obtained 0.81. To analyze the data descriptive statistics (tables, charts, etc.) and inferential statistics (Friedman test) was used. All of the statistical analysis set by SPSS20 sotware.
Eventually 12 strengths, 12 weaknesses, 12 opportunities and 10 threats were identified. Also, the score of internal factors 2.42 and external factors 2.35 obtained.
Considering that in the strategic planning model, the internal environment includes strengths and weaknesses and the external environment includes opportunities and threats, the results showed that based on the points obtained, Iran's judo sport in the internal environment is in the area of weakness and in the external environment is in the threat area; This means that weaknesses are more than strengths and threats are more serious than opportunities. Therefore, for the development of judo in Iran, defensive strategies should be used.
