Evaluation of Jabri's theory in contemporary change of Quran discourse

Mohammad Abed Jaberi is one of the contemporary Arab modernists who criticized Islamic texts, including the Quran, with the influence of French thinkers and relying on modern research methods, especially in the field of epistemology. Due to the damage caused by his critical approach to the Qur'an, the present research was conducted to explain and criticize his principles and views on the contemporary change of the Qur'an's discourse with a descriptive and analytical method. According to the survey, Jabri's views in the two areas of basics and views are: There is an epistemological gap between non-contemporary texts; It is necessary, by placing each text in its historical context, to discover the social and political structure that generates the discourse of that text and finally to read critically of that discourse; The Quran was revealed according to the environmental conditions of the Arab society; The concepts and thoughts of the Qur'an are understood based on common and Arabic customs; The rules of the Quran can be changed with the passage of time. The above principles and views from the aspects of the uncertainty of the existence of a break in epistemic structures; Consistency with deterministic ideas, relying on humanistic assumptions, the lack of influence of the Quran on environmental conditions despite paying attention to it, the inclusion of the Quran on new and novel concepts and ideas, and the expediency and wisdom of the Quran's rulings in All ages are criticized.
