Author(s):
Abstract:
n order to investigate the effects of praying motives on people’s attitudes towards praying, 1100 students of Shiraz University were randomly selected and answered a 77-item questionnaire developed by the researcher. Results showed that those who pray for religious or psychological reasons had significantly more positive attitudes towards praying than those who pray as a habit. Also those who pray as a habit are significantly less familiar with principles of prayer than the other groups. The participants’ perception of the mass prayer’s leader and their attitudes toward other people’s familiarity with the principles of prayer were not statistically significant.
