A Review of Generalities of Historical Geography of Pre-Islam Central Zagros Region

Concerning the importance of the historical geography of the west of Iran, unfurnately, it is found that the historical geography of central Zagros region has not been considered so much by far. This region is a major part of Kermanshah province and a part of its neighboring province. As a great generality, this region is known as origin of the first Iranian govenment, i.e. Medes and Hamedan is world-widely known as the capital of this government. However, rarely ever written about the other cities included in this region and erpecially about the ancient road toward, Babel.This article will study the topics of four temporal eras including historical geography of central zagros from the beginning to Archamenian, Ashkanid and finally the sassanides.
