Iranian Painting from Sadegh Beik Afshar s Perspective

Due to Particular conditions of development, Iranian Painting, unlike other Eastern traditions, does not have extensive theoretical literature, the principles and history of this art. The existing literature, in fact, very limited. For this reason, the treatise Ghanounassovar is considered a significant source, as it has been written by an outstanding painter. This paper aims to shed light on the importance and content of this treatise, and also offers the biography of the author in order to clarify the complicated points of the lext.
