The Study of Socio-Economic Factors Affecting Social Expectations of Youth(The Case Study: Shiraz City)

This study is deal with the effects of socio-economic factors on social expectations of youth in Shiraz. The basic presumption is that the intensity and direction of social expectations of youth are influenced and determined by subjective-objective factors. To doing this investigation, have reviewed some of the internal and abroad literature along with theories relevant to research question. Data, have collected by questionnaire from 385 samples residing in shiraz city at the age of 18-35 years with multistage cluster sampling method. Then, gathered data analyzed by SPSS program. The yielded results demonstrate that: In the bivariate regression, among the independent variables, the variable of "socialization manner in family" has direct and significant relation with social expectations; but "age" has indirect and significant relation with the dependent variable. By using the statistic of compare of means, there is a significant difference between social expectations and independent variables including "birthplace", "level of youth education", "level of father education", "level of mother education", "family income" and "occupational status of father". There are no significant relation and/or difference between social expectations and the independent variables containing of "gender", "marriage position", and "occupational status of mother". In general, results represents that most of the independent variables have significant relation with dependent variable; and the social expectations of the most of youth, are negative or pessimistic.
