A Local Comparison of Study of the Level of Agricultural Mechanization in Hamadan using Fuzzy Approach

The aim of this article is to study the situation of agricultural mechanization in Hamadan province and to compare the levels of mechanization in its various cities. Data was collected from 415 farmers and 285 agricultural machine operators by two different questionnaires. To determine the level of mechanization in each area, a composite indicator including degree of mechanization, capacity of mechanization, productivity of labor and profit were defined and estimated using a fuzzy approach. The findings of the research show that the level of mechanization in the province as a hole is 19.59 percent. Among farms, the highest level of mechanization was recorded in Hamadan at 34.89 per cent and the lowest level was found in Asadabad at 13.72 per cent. The level of mechanization in other cities of the province was estimated between 14.3 and 27.92 per cent. These findings indicate that the situation of agricultural mechanization in Hamadan province is unfavorable.
