The Relationship Between Parent's Child Rearing Styles and Incidence of Anorexia Nervosa Among 14-17 Years Old Female Sdolescents in Isfahan

Abstract:
The aim of the study was to investig-ate the relationship between child rearing styles and incidence of anorex-ia nervosa in female adolescents betw- een the age of 14-17 in Esfahan city. The sample of this study was consist-ing 53 female adolescents and their parents which were selected through purposeful sampling. The adolescents filled Minnesota Eating Behavior Sur- veey (MEBS) and their parents filled child rearing questionnaire of Baum Rind.The results firstly showed that there is a significant positive relationship between democratic style of parents and anorexia nervosa among female adolescents. Second, there is a signi-ficant negative relationship between autoritian style of parents and anorexia nervosa between female adolescents. Third, no significant relationship bet-ween permissive style of parents and anorexia nervosa was not found in female adolescents. So, we conclude that there is a relationship between child rearing styles and incidence of anorexia nervosa and its subscales in female adolescents.
