Justice in the Prophet's state

Author(s):
Abstract:
Concern for justice is an integral part of man’s social life and, as a result, his most important problem when thinking over social issues. Thus, in the thought schools which emerged, social justice had a privileged status. Despite of their common concern for justice, these various schools of thought have different interpretations of this concept, which goes back to their different worldviews. One can differentiate different types of social justice according to different domains of society. Thus, we have economical, political, and legal justice. The paper is to answer the following questions: Which of these domains of social justice is more basic? How can these different types be defined? How can they be realized? What is the obligation of government towards the realization of justice? The Prophet based the religious government in Media on equality and justice, which was new in the Arabic Peninsula. He rose against all types of inequality in different social domains on basis of his monotheistic worldview and establishment of government on Islamic teachings. The paper analyzes all the measures taken by the Prophet in this regard.
