Histology of Soft Palate in Embryo of One Humped Camel
In this paper the soft palate of 72 camel embryos were collected for histological study. Embryos were collected from 2 to 13 months age and in each month, 6 embryos (3 male & 3 female) were studied. Camel uteruses were gathered from slaughterhouse. After dissecting the uteruses, the length of fetuses were measured. Then the samples (head of embryos) were fixed in %10 formalin. Then, the soft palates were dissected in histological laboratory and routine (H&E), staining and serial section performed for histological examination. In this study, simple epithelial tissue exchanged to stratified and pseudostratified epithelium. Also thickness of epithelial tissue (The rows of cells) according to embryos age were increased. Glands in small embryos are mucous and serous or mixed, but in large embryos mocousal glands were increased. Muscles are very thin. In addition, no differentiation was seen between two sexes.
