Men's drug addiction:A threat to women and families

Drug addiction, the most serious social problem in Iran, cab be studied differently from sociological, psychological, legal, and economical viewpoints. It is widely accepted among scholars that drug addiction provides the ground for many social impairments, specifically women's prostitution. More than 60% of the Iranian prisoners have been found guilty due to drug addiction or drug trafficking. Forming the majority of drug addicts, such men, as fathers and husbands, impair the structure of their families seriously and are real threats to women's personal and family lives. As a result, with respect to the extension and depth of this social problem, this paper tries to study the causes of the inclination to drug consumption, the aftermaths of men's drug addiction, and strategies for preventing the problem.
