Calling for Revising the Etymology Section of the Sokhan Dictionary

Persian lexicography. Paying attention to scientific aspects of lexicographyin a period of time which Persian language has been faced with a serious andreal vacuum in this area, such an attention is the most significant feature ofthis dictionary. Paying attention to the etymology of the entries, as well asusing a linguistic corpus to select the entries, attaching importance to theword registers and to the area of words application, furnishing the entrieswith suitable examples and etc. are the features which make this dictionarytake precedence over the available ones. In spite of the attention andimportance which have been paid to the selection of the words etymology,some drawbacks are clearly significant. Therefore, this paper tries to studyand consider some of them in three subsections.
